William Schaff graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 1996; he has been a nominee for both the prestigious Louis-Tiffany Comfort Foundation award, and the RISD/Target Emerging Artist Award. He has exhibited and given talks about his work at places such as the United States Air Force Academy, Rhode Island School of Design Museum, and The University of East Carolina. His work has been published in journals both here and abroad. Bands that he himself has been admiring for years (such as Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Songs: Ohia, Okkervil River, and Kid Dakota to name a few) use his work. Quickly heading to the poor house, Mr. Schaff carries on working whilst being appreciative of venues both big and small where people show an interest in his work. His work is as influenced by his relationship with his dogs as it is by the violent atrocities occurring around the world.
